About Me

I live in California.  I'm retired, I love to swing dance, travel, read and research my genealogy.  I have a blog to share my research with family: https://swingdancerlady.wordpress.com/2015/03/06/jones-lineage/

I would love to find out more about my Jones lineage and get in touch with distant cousins.

My email is [email protected]

Hello,
Recently Marney and I were contacted by the owner of the White Chimneys in Gap, PA. As you know our ancestors Francis and Rachel Jones and family established The White Chimneys as a stop for travelers. The White Chimneys owner is planning a Tricentennial Celebration for this historic event on 4 July 2020. The planners have invited the descendants of the Francis and Rachel Jones Family to come and celebrate. We are attempting to get the word out.
If you are interested in more info please message me. I would love to submit your name and email address and any names and email addresses for any of your family who would like to attend.
The planner for this event is Kathleen Hood, she is happy to take questions. [email protected], 610 383 5068
Thanks, Marlene Jones Vandegrift, [email protected]
I am a Texas Jones. My 2nd great grandfather William Jackson Jones (1840 ? 1925) moved to Texas 1892.

I don't know how I missed your comment in April, but I just saw it today and read your really interesting Wordpress site. My Jones family saga has been neglected to say the least, but now I'm determined to finish it by the end of August. I have hundreds of pages of notes and research; the problem is condensing it and posting it to the website.
I would like to trade information with you and have some questions (and doubts) about some of your Jones ancestors. What source do you have for Samuel Jones 1755-1836 serving in the Rev.War? I have him documented as a devout and Orthodox Quaker affiliated with Joseph Maddocks/Maddox of Wrightsboro GA, who was an extreme pacificist. Samuel and Mary Mote went west to Ohio because their GA land was confiscated after the Rev.War, having been originally a Royal (British) grant. I believe, however, that there were a few nephews who left Wrightsboro and joined the Rebels and received land in GA after the war. If you would be interested in trading with me I would be very happy to hear from you. If you haven't visited my website lately, I have added more recently. I live in West Hollywood (I learned to swing dance when I lived in Miami, but I'm not sure I could do it any more.) Best regards, Marney
