A Jones Family History
the first three hundred years (1700-2000)

 What are we supposed to say here? I always wonder about that. But as usual I'll give it a try:

Born 11 Nov 1946 to parents that were 57 (Dad) & 23 Mom). My father was born Oct 1889 and my mother was Jul 1923. I was raised on a farm in Brown County, OH and graduated from Eastern Local HS in Macon, Brown County, OH in 1965.

Drafted for Uncle Sam's teaparty in Viet Nam in Nov 1965 that year I dodged the draft by enlisting in the US Navy. I served in the US Navy for 13 years on board various ships but mostly nuclear submarines. The first two years in the navy was going to school to learn how to operate a nuclear reactor. I also got my BS degree from George Washington University by attending night school when in port and by remote courses.

After getting out of the Navy I spent a few years at various jobs, Proctor & Gamble, Cincinnati Electronics, & CG&E. When the Zimmer Nuclear Power Plant (CG&E) was terminated, I started consulting in the commercial nuclear power industry writing procedures and teaching others how to operate a commercial nuclear power plant. This lasted until 1998 when my wife decided that we needed to move back to Ohio since my mother was ill and not expected to live for many more years.

We moved back to Ohio and opened a computer sales and service business and made quite a success of it.

My wife died in Jan 2008 and I retired in 2012.
